The Prime Minister of Romania underwent successful surgery in Turkey. The operation was performed by renowned Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Prof. Dr. Mahir Mahiroğulları. Prof. Dr. Mahiroğulları’s expertise and experience ensured that the operation was completed without complications. Thanks to his careful and meticulous work, the Prime Minister’s recovery is progressing well.
Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta underwent successful surgery on his left knee at Medipol University Hospital on Monday, June 15.
Mr. Ponta presented to Medipol University Hospital with complaints of pain, locking and giving way in his left knee. The examination revealed a locked left knee. MRI also showed a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament, a medial meniscus tear, a bucket-handle tear of the lateral meniscus and cartilage damage.
Mr. Ponta, who had undergone surgery on the same knee 15 years earlier, was scheduled for another operation. The surgery, performed at Medipol University Hospital by the team led by Prof. Dr. Mahir Mahiroğulları, was successful. Romanian Prime Minister Ponta was treated with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, medial meniscectomy, lateral meniscus repair and the microfracture technique.
A physical therapy and rehabilitation program was started after surgery. Following the program, which is expected to last 4–6 weeks, Mr. Ponta is expected to make a full recovery.
